Hi, I’m Katy, a passionate (sometimes obsessive) artist with a love for experimenting with color and texture. I stumbled upon ice dyeing after being inspired by another artist's work, and what started as a simple curiosity quickly became my creative outlet. The unpredictability and magic of ice and dye are what keep me inspired every day.

My art is all about embracing the unexpected. With ice dyeing, I start with a blank canvas—a plain garment—and then, through the magic of melting ice and vibrant dyes, I allow the patterns to form naturally. It’s a beautiful, exciting process, where no two pieces are ever the same. It’s all about the surprise of color and texture coming together in ways you can’t predict. 

For me, creating art is not just about applying dye to fabric—it's about understanding and honoring the unique characteristics of each garment. Every piece I work with is different, and my process begins by carefully considering the fabric’s weight, drape, and texture. Each of these factors plays a pivotal role in determining which technique will bring out the most beautiful and striking results.
